Choosing the Right Size
Consider these key factors when selecting your IBC tank size:
Volume Requirements
Calculate your total storage needs. Consider both current needs and potential growth.
275 gal is sufficient for most applications
Ceiling Height
Ensure adequate clearance for filling and handling. Add 12" above tank height.
Minimum: 58" for 275 gal, 65" for 330 gal, 69" for 350 gal
Stacking Needs
If you need to stack tanks, 275 gallon is the best choice.
275 gal: 2-high stacking. 330/350 gal: Not recommended
Transport Method
Consider truck bed height and trailer clearance.
Standard trailers fit all sizes; some enclosed trucks limit 350 gal

Size Guide FAQ
What is the most common IBC tank size?
The 275 gallon (1,000 liter) IBC is by far the most common size worldwide. It represents approximately 85% of all IBC tanks in use and offers the best availability, pricing, and versatility.
Can I stack IBC tanks?
Only 275 gallon tanks are designed for stacking, and only when properly filled (to prevent crushing). You can safely stack 2 filled 275-gallon tanks. 330 and 350 gallon tanks should not be stacked.
What is the weight of a full IBC tank?
A 275 gallon IBC filled with water weighs approximately 2,425 lbs (1,100 kg). A 330 gallon weighs about 2,900 lbs, and a 350 gallon about 3,100 lbs. Contents with different densities will vary.
Will an IBC tank fit through a standard door?
Standard 275 gallon IBCs (48" × 40") require a door at least 42" wide for entry. The 46" height clears standard 80" doors easily. Larger sizes may need garage or industrial doors.
What forklift capacity do I need?
A standard 5,000 lb forklift can handle any filled IBC tank. For safety, we recommend at least 3,000 lb capacity for 275 gallon tanks and 3,500 lb for 330/350 gallon tanks.
